If you are having trouble signing in to Audiobooks — whether you're getting an error, landing in an empty account, or don't recognize the email on file — this article will help you identify and fix the issue.
Step 1 — Identify which login method you used
Audiobooks supports four different ways to create an account. Each one creates a separate account, so signing in with the wrong method creates a new blank account instead of opening your existing one.
- Sign in with Apple
- Sign in with Google
- Email and password
If you are not sure which method you originally used, try each one in turn. The one that opens an account with your listening history are already signed in → then try a different login option.
Most common cause of login issues: Using a different login method than the one you originally signed up with. For example, signing up via Google but later trying to sign in with email creates a second empty account.
Step 2 — Follow the steps for your login method
Sign in with Apple
Tap Sign in with Apple on the login screen. Your Apple ID will be used to authenticate — you do not need a Audiobooks password. If Apple shows a private relay email ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com, that is normal.
Sign in with Google
Tap Sign in with Google and select the Google account you originally used to create your Audiobooks account.
Email and password
Enter the email and password you registered with. If you have forgotten your password, tap Forgot password? on the login screen. See How do I reset my password? for full steps.
Step 3 — Common error messages
- "No account found" — You are using the wrong login method, or the email address is not registered. Try a different sign-in option.
- "Incorrect password" — Double-check your password. Use Forgot password? to reset it.
- No password option shown — Your account was created with Apple, Google, or Facebook. Use one of those buttons instead.
